Suwannee River State Park is one of the most historically significant State Parks in all of Florida. This park is in Live Oaks, Florida, at the intersection of the Suwannee and Withlacoochee Rivers. There are mounds of dirt that once served the purpose of defending from Union Navy Gunboats. Suwannee River State Park has so much history; within the park, you will also find two ghost towns, the remains of a 19th-century steamship, and other important historical sites.
Overview
Besides the park’s rich history, you will be able to experience Suwannee River Campsites, hiking, bird watching, fishing, paddling, and more. Some of the most pleasant amenities include campfire circles, a boat ramp, laundry, a playground, and restroom facilities. Staying overnight at the Suwannee River Campsites or cabins offers a one-of-a-kind experience to get in touch with nature while having many of the amenities we have grown to love.
