John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, located at mile marker 102.5 in Key Largo, Florida, is world-famous for becoming the country’s first undersea park. One of Florida’s most well-known parks is a mist-visit with over 70 nautical miles and full of exciting wildlife. While you visit the park, you can go on glass-bottom boat tours, snorkeling, and scuba diving. All these experiences can get you closer to the amazing wildlife in the park.

At John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, you will also have the opportunity to fish in designated areas and even kayak or canoe around the state park. Throughout the park, there are short walking trails through the hammocks. Of course, swimming and picnicking are two family favorite activities to indulge in while visiting. A theater shows nature videos and massive saltwater tanks that showcase the diverse marine life within the State Park within the visitor center. Camping at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park is amazing; you have the ability to choose from group/youth campsites, RV Campsites, and Tent camping.

The ranger station will be able to help you make these reservations. They are full facility options, meaning you will have access to a shower, laundry, restrooms, and other facilities to make you as comfortable as possible.
